The Person

As a child and teenager I devoured travel writing, already picturing myself on distant continents as I read. Later, whenever the chance came, I set off myself: to Japan, Mongolia, Iceland and many other places I had previously known only from the pages of books.

Africa never left my mind. Books and personal encounters with Ryszard Kapuściński and other writers made me even more curious. Eventually I wanted to ask my own questions, meet people and spend time with them. And find out which of my assumptions would survive the journey.

My camera always comes with me. I cannot sit still at home either: I am often out running, cycling or hiking.
